Did you know that Gerlinger Schuhe & Orthopädie is 130 years old this year? A lot has changed since the company was founded in 1893. Our company has grown and constantly evolved. Generation after generation, craftsmanship and tradition have been passed on and at the same time constantly combined with innovation and modernity to keep up with the times. But one thing has not changed in 130 years of company history: We are and remain a family business. A company with regional roots and clear values.

Sustainability: More than just a word.

What does a company need to be successful for 130 years? We are convinced that the ability to move with the times is important. To go through the world with open eyes, to look change in the eye and to see trends as opportunities. One of these trends is sustainability. And at Gerlinger, this is more than just a word. It is clear to us that we can and want to make a contribution to a better world. In concrete terms, we do this by replacing plastic bags with cloth bags, for example. By repairing shoes in our workshops instead of disposing of them. By using recycled materials and sustainable alternatives, such as vegan leather made from cactus. By digitizing documents and processes in the office to reduce paper consumption and waste.

The focus is on people.

However, we also have 130 years of company history to thank for the fact that we have never lost sight of the essentials. As diverse as our orthopaedic solutions, services and shoes are, they all have one thing in common: they are developed and manufactured for people.
