sportmotorik: pain-free movement, increased performance

Move pain-free, increase performance.

Sportmotorik

Whether running, cycling or weight training. Whether you’re an amateur or competitive athlete. Whether young or old. Anyone who exercises should do so pain-free and with the greatest possible efficiency. Not only to improve your own performance, but also to give your body the best possible support. And that’s exactly what Sportmotorik Vienna is there for. It supports athletes in the form of gait, posture and sports analyses to eliminate or prevent pain, improve performance and thus enjoy exercise even more. The current blog is all about Sportmotorik. However, we are handing over “the pen” to one of our customers and letting him tell us about his visit and his experiences at Sportmotorik.

Why Sportmotorik?

Hello dear readers. My name is Christoph, I’m 36 years old and I’ve been an enthusiastic runner for many years. What I love about running is the fact that I can do it anywhere, all year round, with relatively little equipment. It also clears my head on stressful days and gives me a feeling of time out and freedom. This year, I decided to run the Vienna City Marathon. To prepare myself for this challenge in the best possible way, I booked a running analysis with Sportmotorik. Specifically, I wanted to improve my performance, but also to get a professional opinion on my foot deformity (flat foot, fallen arches and splayfoot), which has been with me all my life. Making an appointment was quick and easy via an online form on the website. And so I was soon off to Sportmotorik Vienna at Seidengasse 37, 1070 Vienna.

Space and framework for exercise and sport.

Visitors to Sportmotorik can expect spacious and bright rooms. The reception area leads to the individual analysis rooms, which are optimally equipped for various sports, such as running or cycling. One thing is immediately apparent here: it’s all about exercise and sport. And about helping people to experience more efficiency, enjoyment and quality. However, this requires not only the right equipment and modern analysis devices, but above all a competent team. And that’s what Sportmotorik has in the form of six experts with specialist training and a personal passion for a wide range of sports. I was welcomed that day by Markus, who has training and further education in the fields of rehabilitation technology, massage and sport. So it’s no wonder that I felt I was in competent hands right from the start.

A running analysis: what is it? How does it work?

Admittedly, I have been running for many years, but I didn’t know exactly what a professional running analysis was like. First of all, I had a detailed initial consultation with Markus. Basic needs, questions, wishes and goals were clarified. I then went onto the treadmill, thanks to the latest technology combined with analysis software. What is my posture during exercise? How do I step on the ground? Which parts of my foot are bearing the most weight? These and many other questions can be answered by the analysis. What did I gain from this? A lot, because following the running analysis, Markus was able to give me specific tips for my training and therefore for my big goal, the marathon. For example, he showed me small exercises that are easy to do in everyday life to further strengthen my foot muscles and gave me specific instructions on how to improve my movement.

Sensorimotor insoles for movement optimization.

At Sportmotorik, I not only had a running analysis, but also heard about sensomotoric insoles for the first time. These are produced directly on site at Sportmotorik on the basis of extensive 3D scans. The added value of sensomotoric insoles is that they stimulate the muscles through so-called power spots and thus improve overall motor skills. Specifically, for me this has meant that the insoles support me during my running laps with optimal foot rolling, more stability from foot to back and thus more overall quality of movement.

Individual support from start to finish.

I left the Sportmotorik branch with lots of tips for my running training and sensomotoric insoles. What I particularly liked here was the individual support from start to finish. Markus gave me enough time, answered my individual questions and responded specifically to my needs. As a result, I was able to take a lot with me and put it into practice. I could always tell that Sportmotorik, which is part of Gerlinger Schuhe & Orthopädie, is a family business. I quickly realized that humanity and personality are really lived here. And that’s also necessary when it comes to sport. Because movement and all the needs that go with it are individual, different from person to person.

Sportmotorik: A good address for athletes.

On April 23, 2023, the time had finally come. After my visit to Sportmotorik and four months of covering countless kilometers, I actually ran the Vienna City Marathon. What a sporting experience, what a feeling of having surpassed myself once again. If you also want to experience more joy in movement, improve your own performance and develop your sporting skills, I can absolutely recommend a visit to Sportmotorik.
