Heel spur
Causes and solution
Why does my heel hurt?
Heel pain is pain in the heel that occurs at rest or during exertion. Depending on the location of the heel pain, a distinction is made between lower or plantar heel pain and upper or dorsal heel pain. Pain under the heel is often caused by inflammation of the tendon plate (plantar fasciitis) or a lower, plantar heel spur.
Upper or dorsal heel pain is often caused by inflammation of the Achilles tendon insertion.
The heel spur is a thorn-like, bony outgrowth that can form on the heel bone (calcaneus) in the course of life. There are two variants: the posterior heel spur at the base of the Achilles tendon (cranial heel spur) and the lower heel spur on the sole of the foot (plantar heel spur), which occurs much more frequently. A combination with plantar fasciitis, which causes the actual pain, is also common.
What is plantar fasciitis? How can sensorimotor therapeutic insoles help?
Plantar fasciitis (also known as plantar fasciitis) is an inflammation of the tendon plate on the sole of the foot and is typically caused by overuse. The attachment of the tendon plate to the heel bone is usually affected. Since incorrect or excessive tendon tension plays a significant role in plantar fasciitis, a significant improvement is possible if the tensile load on the plantar fascia and Achilles tendon is reduced.
This is possible with a sensorimotor or podological therapeutic insole. With this treatment, certain muscle groups can be specifically relieved and the muscle tone, or tension, increased in others. In this way, foot misalignments can be corrected and pain reduced to achieve a long-term result.
